New Classic Christmas Movies

See if you agree with my #1.

But, What do I mean by "New Classics?"
You'll see....

Here are my top 10 New Classic Christmas movies:

10. The Nightmare Before Christmas

Tim Burton creates a dark and wonderful Christmas world. "A stunningly original and visually delightful work of stop-motion animation." My brother loves it and you will too.

9.Elf

Everyone who sees this movies laughs out loud. "Ferrell's funny and charming performance makes Elf a delightful Christmas comedy." See it.

8. Die Hard

This movies rocks. "Its many imitators have never come close to matching the taut thrills of the definitive holiday action classic"
Watch them all!

7. Groundhog Day

It's snowing and it's a holiday. It counts.
Bill Murray is a genius and at the top of his game.
See it.

6. Gremlins

Pop a big bowl of popcorn and enjoy another amazing classic. "Joe Dante's hilariously funny, wickedly scary film is about a loveable, furry little Christmas gift that multiplies into many little Christmas gifts, with savage consequences."

5. Go

A Pulp Fiction-like edgy comedy set during Christmas. "With its sharp dialogue and raucous visuals, Go entertains at an exhilarating pace."

4. Kiss Kiss Bang Bang

From the writer of Die hard, comes this completely original and clever movie.
"Tongue-in-cheek satire blends well with entertaining action and spot-on performances in this dark, eclectic neo-noir homage."

3. The Ref

This is such a unique movie. You will love it."Undeniably...too dark for some, The Ref nonetheless boasts strong turns from Denis Leary, Judy Davis, and Kevin Spacey, as well as a sharply funny script."

2. Brazil

A Masterpiece. Not only of my favorite movies of all time, but the dvd set is the most amazing and full loaded I've ever seen."Brazil, Terry Gilliam's visionary Orwellian fantasy, is an audacious dark comedy, filled with strange, imaginative visuals." See it twice.

1. Bad Santa

Santa is a thief.
I could watch this movie every day. It's hysterical. "This holiday season the traditional Christmas tale will never be the same with the cleverly twisted, merrily irreverent story of a Santa so bad he's wickedly funny"

Note: there are at least three versions of this movie, but I recommend Badder Santa.

Honorable Mention:

Ghost Town

Like Groundhog Day, in that it feels like a Christmas movie."Ricky Gervais' consistently sharp performance and beautifully dry execution transform this otherwise mainstream comedy into an endearing, funny, and altogether snappy romantic comedy. With ghosts."

Zodiac
Zodiac? Yes. This movie is spectacular."A quiet, dialogue-driven thriller that delivers with scene after scene of gut-wrenching anxiety."

If you haven't seen these movies or don't own them, do yourself a favor and pick them up. I promise you that you won't be sorry.

Happy Holidays!
